I don’t know about you guys but i’m not sure how to feel about this album…FL is going in a more experimental direction and I kinda miss his hip hop style production…but maybe after a couple listens it’ll grow on me!

  13. Max says:

This is definitely a grower, some of the songs blew me away with their intricate style and beauty..thanks Melo!

  14. asdf says:

  17. WRKB says:

Boring or good for reading. Its ambiental experimental electronic clicking. No beats at all. Its so intelectual that even intelectuals dont understand it. This music is poser. I am trying to like it – I check every new Flying Lotus release, but after listening I think same about it. I miss some funkynes or freshnes in it. Some energy. Its lame. HIPSTERS MUSIC.
    Sorry, heads.
dont hate me cause i’m beautiful. peace

    • nateyo says:

maybe he wants u to read more and stop acting like a douche

      • Clint Partie says:

“Read more”? It’s not a book, it’s music. I agree with WRKB (& Fil). He’s not a “douche” just cuz he isn’t gushing over your precious Flying Lotus.

        • don king says:

I tend to agree with this, early Flylo stuff when he was more beats driven is just more interesting than this slow navel gazing jazz-odyssey Flylo.

It’s nice enough and has a few highlights but ultimately it feels like music for muso purists who like to sneer at everything and think they’re “deep”.

          • lololol says:

this is funny because you guys seem to think that flylo cares about your opinion. he’s the one doing sold out shows, has plenty awesome fans, working with legends, doing what he loves. you guys are probably stuck working a shitty 9 to 5, pirating albums & probably hate your life. i think flylo is winning here whether you guys like it or not lol

    • jrozay says:

i agree, i was never really a flying lotus fan, still am not…

    • Eateator says:

I don’t think you know what you’re getting into. Maybe too young?

    • Jhenley says:

What you’ve said is just arrogantly biased and downright clueless. “So intellectual that intellectuals don’t understand it.” – Really? You’re full of shit on so many levels. I hope you’re just trolling.

I’ve read a few negative review about the album. That’s fine, everyone can have their opinion, and it’s nice to hear other peoples’ takes on things. I agree that I would like to have heard some of the cosmic-sways of Los Angeles, but artists evolve. If it’s not your style then move on, but don’t go saying stupid shit like this guy because you’ll really just be making a fool out of yourself.

  18. zosh says:

    Thanks man !

  19. Roughian says:

it’s been awesome to see flylo grow throughout the years. always enjoy his releases. thanks melo!

  20. iGotBadNews says:

Album of the year. Period. Didn’t think I’d get this album til October 1st. Rappamelo always has the good shit.

  21. NinjaNymous says:

Pas terrible cet album, que du réchauffé.

  22. HH says:

    I Love You man !!

  23. Merkaba says:

Its a good release.. but it is definitely more of a sleepy sound/vibe than previous releases.. I also hear a handful of sample of old FlyLo tracks mashed up in a couple of these tracks… Heave(n) for example.. but I still dig it, but yes.. FlyLo needs to throw some fresh funk in the frying pan fo sho!

  24. dinson says:

yeah if i the record label didn’t remove the link i probably would have actually listened and then bought a few copies on vinyl.. their loss

    • ian says:

If you were really planning of buying ‘a couple of copies’, one website pulling a free link to the album down wouldn’t deter you.

But I’m sure they’ll do fine without you.
