Mochilla Presents Timeless Suite For Ma Dukes

Timeless: The Composer/Arranger Series is the name of a concert series that was created in homage to the composer /arragens who have influenced hip-hop i nthe most literal and profound ways. Timeless was conceived by production house Mochilla in Los Angeles during February and March 2009 and included the performances of over 150 musicians in front of ecstatic sold out crowds. These three historic events were recorded and filmed in exacting detail with Mochilla’s unmistakable style.

James Yancey, better know as J Dilla was born in Detroit. His work as a producer has a defining role in hiphop. He produced for A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Common, Erykah Badu and Janet Jackson. At 32 he passed away in Los Angeles in the care of his motre, Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey of lupus related illness. Miquel Atwood-Ferguson pays tribute to Dilla by interpreting his music for a 60-piece orchesta featuring special guests Bilal, Dwele, Posdnuos, Talib Kweli, Karriem Riggins and more. This Premiere performance left many in the sold out crowd in tears.

The box set will be an extremely limited and numbered edition of 4,000, which will include full liner notes, a free poster exclusive only to this box set, extra features, songs and slideshows of images used in the presentation.
